This course aims to improve your child's ability to express their feelings and understand that all emotions are valid. We will do this by covering a different emotion each week and completing fun activities to teach self-regulation. Every class will start with a "check in" activity where the children will be encouraged to share one good thing that happened today. We will then spend the rest of the lesson time completing the activity and showing each other our finished products. Some...
Students will improve their understanding of emotional intelligence and different emotions. We will practice recognising, relaxing and reframing. The learners will also improve their self-awareness, self-regulation, and social skills.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, specialising in counselling. I have 2 years experience working with children in schools, offering counselling and life-skills courses. I currently work as a Youth Worker in London.
Learners will need a variety of different materials for this class. Some of these include colouring pencils, markers, paper, balloons, a glass jar, glitter, etc. A supply list will be posted in the classroom every Friday for the following week.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be discussing our emotions in this class and learners will be encouraged to share if they feel comfortable. Some learners may also need a parent's help when completing some activities like cutting and gluing.
