Description

Class Experience

Explore Irish Folklore while engaging in creative and fun activities to go along with the Magic Treehouse books: Leprechauns in Late Winter and Leprechauns (fiction) and Irish Folklore (nonfiction) by Mary Osborne Pope.

Each week, we will discuss the books.  The first two weeks we discuss the fiction book and the last two weeks we discuss and compare the nonfiction book. We will also be completing projects or games to go along with each book:
Week 1: Design a leprechaun village while...

Most projects will require kids to plan in class and use materials in the house that they gather after planning.  However, week 2 we will be making Celtic Knots. Kids will need:
Construction paper, multiple colors
Glue
Scissors
Printout that will be provided in a post for download in the classroom

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Kids will need scissors for some projects therefore, parental supervision at discretion.
