Class Experience

This class is perfect for students who love to build with Legos, discuss Star Wars, AND write.

During the fun, Force-filled class students will:

1) Introduce themselves and show off a recent LEGO Star Wars creation (or two)
2) Listen enthusiastically while their classmates display and discuss their creations
3) Participate in a Star Wars discussion and trivia game (e.g., I'll invite students to discuss favorite characters, episodes, ideas for alternate endings and spin-off series, etc.)
4) Write a short, Star Wars-themed paragraph in response to a prompt

Learning Goals

Students will gain experience discussing a topic (i.e., their LEGO Star Wars creations), answering questions about it, engaging with other students, sharing their Star Wars knowledge, and responding to a writing prompt.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
Besides loving all things Star Wars, I have an MA in English and have led (and participated in) many book, writing, and art discussions. I am comfortable teaching both children and teens and am sensitive to learners who love to participate as well as to those who prefer to primarily listen to discussions. I excel at keeping children engaged and providing a mix of activities to foster a fun educational experience.
