Using Legos, children will have an opportunity to learn and practice preschool math concepts. Sorting, colors, counting, shapes, numbers, measuring, and patterning will all be learned and practiced using Legos during class sessions. Demonstrations and visuals will be used to help explain the concepts to students. Learners will have an opportunity to use their own Legos to practice these math concepts with teacher support. The first session will focus on sorting, colors, and counting. The second session will focus on shapes and patterns. The third session will focus on measuring and sequencing . Students must bring their own Legos to each class session.

Supply List
Students need their own Legos in multiple colors (regular size or Duplo size). PDFs will also be shared in the classroom for use during each class.

Hello! My name is Amy and I have been a teacher for 20 years! I have taught early childhood and elementary grade levels, ESL students, college students, and adults through various institutions!
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I also have a Master of Science degree in Educational and Instructional Technology. In addition, I am certified to teach Reading in grades K-8 and all Middle School subjects. I have also obtained my TESOL endorsement.
My philosophy of teaching combines a few different educational theories. I am a strong believer of constructivist and brain-based learning and incorporate both into my instruction. I want to make learning interesting, engaging, fun, and challenging so that students are excited to learn and are more engaged in their learning. I incorporate differentiated instruction and multiple methods of instruction to meet the diverse needs of the students. I also strive to create a learning environment that supports social emotional learning and competency. I use a variety of technological sources in many of my classes, including PowerPoint, YouTube, and other digital resources. I love to incorporate technology, music, and a variety of other teaching methods to help reach all learners!
I reside in Arizona, USA with my husband, 4 children, 3 dogs, and 2 guinea pigs! Reading is my favorite hobby and I love animals. My favorite place in the world is the beach and I love to swim!
I teach reading classes, book clubs, science classes, and other fun learning classes. I offer a wide variety of classes on Outschool. I will work hard to make sure your child enjoys my classes!
