In this multi-day course, we will use LEGO® bricks to count, build, and explore the following 3rd grade math standards: multiplication, division, writing equations, area, perimeter, measurement, fractions, and graphing data.

Class Experience

3rd Grade Level Standards:
-Represent and solve problems involving multiplication and division (1st Class)
-Multiply and divide within 100 (1st Class)
-Understand concepts of perimeter/area and relate perimeter/area to addition and multiplication (2nd Class)
-Solve problems involving measurement and estimation (3rd Class)
-Develop understanding of fractions as numbers (4th Class)
-Represent and interpret data (4th Class)
If possible, please provide your student with a variety of multi-colored LEGO® bricks (cubes and rectangular prisms), a notebook or blank paper, and a pencil. During our 3rd class meeting, your student will need a standard ruler or measuring tape.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
