1-2 hours per week. Learners will be expected to work on an individual LEGO project between classes. They will receive feedback during our second class.Class Experience
Do you have what it takes to design your own LEGO set? In this two-week class, we will analyze how LEGO designers go about designing new sets through discussion. Our first class meeting is dedicated to discussing the engineering design process. Additionally, we will investigate how LEGO designers combine old set details and refresh previously released designs. Our second class meeting is devoted to learners sharing their original designs in class. Learners should plan on working on their design in between classes. Our first class will be a structured discussion which incorporates video analysis. Our second class will follow a structured show and tell. Learners should plan on working on their build between classes as neither class will have structured build time. This class is best suited for LEGO enthusiasts who want to take their designs to the next level.

In this class, students will grow in their abilities to:

-- Share their design rationale with others
-- Use LEGO pieces in creative ways

Parental Guidance
This class is best for self-directed learners with the discipline to work on a LEGO project in between classes.
Supply List
Learners will need LEGO bricks and plates to build their project between classes. The teacher will provide a design log to help students brainstorm and document their project. Learners can also prepare a photo essay or a video to describe their project.
