Class Experience

In this workshop, students will learn how to:
-- Discuss the engineering design process
-- Reflect on how they use the engineering design process in their own building
-- Describe how they built and designed a LEGO project
-- Listen to other students sharing a design project
-- Engage in iterative design to expand and extend a project
I'm a mechanical engineer and engineering educator who loves facilitating LEGO engineering challenges on Outschool.
The goal of this class is to get started on a complex LEGO build. Learners are encouraged to keep using the ABCs of Design as they continue to refine their project. Everyone is welcome to upload a picture or video celebrating their final design in the classroom.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This workshop is best suited for learners who can sustain their attention on one complex LEGO build for 40 minutes. If your student thrives in more rapid building challenges, I highly recommend either Engineering Design for Kids or the LEGO Engineering Challenge.
