Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Grab some bricks! It's time to create!

This on-going club challenges learners to get their hands-on engineering by building diverse brick-built creations. We will discover how engineers solve problems as we build new designs every week.

All of our weekly challenges have been suggested by previous students. Sample meetings include things like:
* Improv where we draw quick build challenges out of a hat
* Stories where we combine 3 smaller builds into one unified story
* Block Challenges where we design builds using a limited collection student-selected bricks
* Inspiration where we design our own variations of existing brick-built sets
* Set Designer where learners brainstorm builds that would be part of a set
* Grab Bag where learners can select a project from a longer list of ideas

This is a club so it has a more relaxed atmosphere. We start by getting creation ideas from everyone who joins our meeting before deciding on our first challenge. Each meeting incorporates building time and sharing time. Students will be encouraged to explain their designs and their engineering process. As such, students will need to bring interlocking building bricks to class every week in order to participate fully.

Parental Guidance
Club times are designed to be friendly to learners with diverse sensory needs. Specifically, learners are asked to mute themselves when digging in their brick collection. Please make sure that your learner is comfortable with muting and unmuting themselves.
Supply List
Learners should come to our club with a bucket of bricks.
 1 file available upon enrollment
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
