In the Lego design challenge, students will learn the engineering process of the world around us. They will apply the engineering process/steps to create a mystery challenge given in class. After students create their vision of the challenge, students will share their model and reflect on their experience. The last 15 minutes of class will be devoted to students sharing their favorite Lego creation. The first 10 minutes will be devoted to learning the engineering process. The second 20 minutes will be devoted to building the challenge/reflection. The last 15 minutes will be sharing their favorite Lego creations!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their knowledge of the engineering process and will apply this knowledge to creating a mystery structure, using a variety of Lego pieces.Other Details
Supply List
Students should bring their favorite Lego creation and a variety of Lego pieces to use during the challenge.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello friends! My name is Teacher Douglas and I so excited to teach your children! I have over 15 years of teaching children ages 5 through 15 years old. I taught 4th and 6th grade, but have also taught various science camps and classes with from kindergarten through 9th grade. Two of my biggest passions are science and Disney! I am looking to share my passion and inspiration to your child. I love learning and am a strong believer in promoting life long learning. I see our world as a big classroom where anything we observe can ignite a desire to inquire more about our world.
