Students will use their imaginations to write a comic, and then bring their comic to life in a LEGO® build. They can include favorite characters like Pokemon, Ninjago, Minecraft, or write a comic about a topic of their choice.

Class Experience
Do you want to become the next Stan Lee? Do you love reading comics like Calvin and Hobbes? If you also love building with LEGO®, this is place to try out your creative ideas. Students will use a comic template to write their own short comic, about any topic that they choose. The comic will feature speech bubbles, however the student may add any other details or ideas to his/her comic. Practice the skills of creative thinking and writing. Support classmates in positivity, and appreciate all attempts at the creative process. Work on listening, public speaking, and following multi-step directions.
I have over 15 years of experience teaching elementary aged students, and hold both a Ph.D. and a M.Ed in education. I also have current licensure to teach PreK through sixth grade. My educational background includes extensive training in teaching core academic subjects, gifted/creative logic, and all manners of pedagogical methods.
-Comic template handout will be provided in the classroom upon enrollment. -Your own, personal LEGO® brick collection (enough for a small build). If you do not own any bricks, consider purchasing them from the company at https://www.lego.com. -Pencil and something to color with -Scissors and glue or tape, if your child prefers to cut out minifigures instead of drawing them.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
