Class Experience
Join in the fun as we build and show-off our Lego creations in a fun asynchronous social atmosphere! Each week participants will have a new building theme. On Mondays, I will post a PDF with that week's theme along with tips and ideas and the participants will spend the week building. The benefit of taking this as a FLEX class is that students can build at their own speed without having to finish within the time limits of a live class. When participants are finished with their build, they will share pictures of it, along with a comment describing it (or a video of them showing and explaining it). Other students should leave a positive comment about each others builds. The goal of this class is to enjoy Legos and foster a positive environment. As such, I will also include several other social opportunities throughout the week including mini challenges, Lego Trivia games through Kahoot, and prompts to show off other big Lego projects they are working on. Please check into the classroom regularly to participate in these interactive activities. **Class Schedule** Week 1 - Water: Create a build with water as the main feature. Week 2 - Castle: Create an architectural castle themed build. Week 3 - Video Games: Create a build that is themed around your favorite video game. Week 4 - City: Create a Lego city of any size. **This is a FLEX class with NO live meetings. If you are looking for the live version of this class, you can find it here: https://outschool.com/classes/lego-build-and-brag-social-club-aS7ZyATl#usYgWlY7D0**

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a Charlotte Mason home educator with a degree in English and Spanish Literature. I am passionate about science and the humanities, and am excited to share my passion for these subjects with your children!
I believe that students learn best when they do the work of learning. This means that I will do my best to put them in contact with living ideas and facilitate their journey towards a more comprehensive understanding of the subject. I want your students to participate in their own education. Rather than rote memorization, we will utilize first-hand experience and the process of narration (re-telling what they have learned from the lesson). I hope your children will leave my courses inspired and with a greater desire to continue learning!
