Class Experience

Students will learn about the architectural concerns involved in designing and building skyscrapers and use Legos to build skyscraper models inspired by what they learn. 
I have taught elementary math and science for four years.  I am certified to teach K-12 art.  I am also certified to teach all subjects (k-6).  Art and design are personal hobbies of mine.
No homework will be assigned.

Basic Lego kits will suffice. While I suggest specific pieces, we can always improvise with the pieces that your child has. Having a collection (20+ pieces) of 1x2 blocks, 2x2 blocks, 2x3 blocks, 2x4 blocks, or a mixture of these blocks will help add height to your Lego skyscrapers. Supply list:
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will end class by providing open-ended challenges and ideas that students can explore on their own.  I will also provide resources for students interested in learning more about the topic.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
