Class Experience

I first experienced Druidawn as a participant alongside my son. We quickly became enamored with the adventures and with leveling up our beloved characters. Soon I was having fun teaching Druidawn myself, leading classes through mythical and magical lands. I have been been using Legends of Druidawn to encourage students to write for many years. Words are currency in Druidawn. Kids don't HAVE to write, they will WANT to write!
Week 1 the homework is necessary as the student needs to create a character. Each week afterwards there will be optional homework. If the student chooses not to do the homework, after week 1, the adventure will likely not be as enjoyable but it's still possible to get through without it. The homework will be explain verbally to the students and posted on Outschool to the parents so that everyone knows what work should be completed. Students can put in as little or as much time as they choose. Their characters will benefit from their efforts.
I encourage the students to send me their homework electronically but that is not required. They can do all their homework written on paper and either send me a picture OR just don't send it in at all. Either way is good.

Ability to write at least basic sentences. The optional homework is tailored to YOUR child's abilities. Although most of the homework is optional, I promise your child will want to complete each week's assignment!
 7 files available upon enrollment
There will be handouts. You will need to print out about 20-30 pages over the course of the class. You will need 1 20-sided die and 2 6-sided dice during each class. I recommend that each student has a 3 ring binder to keep all their materials in.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Be aware that this adventure does have various undead attacking the knights. As in all Druidawn adventures there is always a peaceful option that the knights may choose but quite frequently they choose a chaotic resolution. Blood, weapons, killing are usually part of a chaotic resolution.
