Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level
***I love Legend of Zelda SO much! And, I'm sure that you do too, since you're checking out this class. To sweeten the deal, use my promo code TUCKEZELDAFAN5 to get $5 off this class!***

🗡️ In this interactive course, gamers will play a variety of Legend of Zelda games with teacher Laura! EVERY session, topics will be learner-directed.

We will play together in class (I may share a screen at times so they can watch as I play, and students will need their own device to play also. Please see supply list). Most of the games have MANY side quests and fun things to explore. We will be discussing the absolute basics that learners need to know, tips and tricks to up our game, and gameplay will by no means be exhaustive. There will be many things you can find and learn outside of class time. At the beginning or end of class learners will be encouraged to share something new they learned or found in the game.

Some of the things they will learn as we play:
- dynamics of the games they are playing
- characters you will meet in your adventure
- basic items (think sword, shield, bombs, etcetera)
- basic temple and boss information
- the backstory to the game

It is NOT necessary for learners to have already played the game or have played other Zelda games as the games can stand alone. Please be advised that some learners may already know about other Zelda games and we may discuss them in class in comparison to this game, but it is not necessary to know everything about the world of Legend of Zelda.

Learners ARE expected to spend some time between classes in gameplay so that they can discuss the game and where they need help. We may think of weekly challenges to help give them goals between classes. That being said, learners can jump into this class at any time and the challenges are not a requirement.

Please contact me with any questions you might have.

I’ve played the following Legend of Zelda games:
A Link to the Past (Super NES)
Link’s Awakening (Switch)
Oracle of Seasons (Gameboy Advanced)
Oracle of Ages (Gameboy Advanced)
A Link Between Worlds (2DSXL)
Ocarina of Time (N64, GameCube, 2DSXL, Switch)
Majora’s Mask (N64, GameCube, 2DSXL, Switch)
Windwaker. (Gamecube)
Four Swords (Gamecube, unfinished)
Twilight Princess (Gamecube)
Breath of the Wild (Switch)
Skyward Sword (Switch)
Age of Calamity (Switch, unfinished)
Tears of the Kingdom (Switch)
Echoes of Wisdom (Switch, in progress)
Minish Cap (Switch, in progress)

I’ve also read all of the mangas.

🗓️ Dates there will be NO classes scheduled. You will NOT be charged for weeks that do not have classes scheduled, so it is NOT necessary to un-enroll that weeks. In 2024, I will NOT be scheduling any classes for the following weeks:
* December 22nd and 29th due to Christmas. 🎄 Classes will resume the week of January 5th.

My no-show policy: if no learners are in the classroom after 10 minutes, the Zoom session will be ended (this is Outschool's general policy for no-shows).
Learning Goals
Learners will share and learn tips and tricks to help them improve playing Legend of Zelda.

Parental Guidance
The Legend of Zelda characters typically use weapons including but not limited to: a slingshot, bow and arrow, shield, and sword. See content information here: https://www.commonsensemedia.org/game-reviews/the-legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-3d https://www.commonsensemedia.org/game-reviews/the-legend-of-zelda-majoras-mask-3d https://www.commonsensemedia.org/game-reviews/the-legend-of-zelda-the-wind-waker-hd https://www.commonsensemedia.org/game-reviews/the-legend-of-zelda-twilight-princess-hd These are almost all one-player games BUT I do understand that some learners make friends in class and want to become Nintendo friends or share gamer tags for video games they can play together. Upon signing up, PLEASE keep in mind and follow Outschool's policy for gamer tags: * Learners or parents should message gamer tags directly through a private message * Never allow learners to share their gamer tags in the classroom page (this means teacher or parents should delete comments from learners that do). Thank you!
Supply List
For optimum enjoyment of this course, learners will need their console and Legend of Zelda game of their choice. Please keep in mind that some learners having the same game may have different consoles, which may slightly alter gameplay experiences. I will be playing on a Switch (most of the time) or 2DSXL. Most games are available as a digital download. You can play on any console: Nintendo, Super Nintendo, N64, GameCube, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, DS, 2DS/2DSXL, 3DS/3DSXL, Wii, WiiU, or any version of Switch. You may play ANY Legend of Zelda game you'd like. Please just keep the class discussions topics focused on Legend of Zelda themes.
