Description
Class Experience
In this ongoing club, we will study and write different forms of poetry (one form each week). Each class will involve instruction and discussion about the type of poetry for that week. It will include review of one or more poems that fit the type. We will all, then, begin work on our own poem of that type with questioning and input from me and the learners. My input is positive and uplifting. And I insist on positive and uplifting input from all learners. My hope is that learners love...
Certified English Language Arts teacher, poet, painter, sculptor, and author. I love writing and teaching poetry. Poetry is a way to express thoughts and feelings in a special language without being overly concerned about sentence structure, etc.
No homework is assigned. But learners are encouraged to continue to write poetry during the time between classes.
Pen/pencil Writing paper/poetry notebook Learners may use the computer for their writing during class if they want to split the screen. (Although, I highly encourage handwriting poetry).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
