Description

Class Experience

Students will come together to learn rose-making and to make red roses for a special United States national art installation project to commemorate those who have died from COVID-19.
I am a Certified ELA teacher, an author, a poet, a painter, and a sculptor. I have been approved as a Facilitator for this project by the ©Rose River Project coordinators. They are allowing us to hold rose-making gatherings and use their art work, instruction video, and website in workshops here on the Outschool platform.
My purpose in offering this workshop is to give students a way to be involved in a United States national art installation project. Although this workshop is about creating art, the reason for the art project may trigger feelings of anxiety in some students. With a minor in Sociology, 18 years of teaching experience, and ongoing teacher training throughout the years, I have worked successfully with students when dealing with sensitive issues.
No homework is assigned. However, learners are free to make roses outside of class time.
 1 file available upon enrollment

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Learners will use sharp scissors and waterproof glue or hot glue gun. Roses will need to be mailed to the national art installation project coordinators periodically. Learners may need adult help with some or all of these.
