Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Welcome! This ongoing, Science course is perfect for learners who enjoy engaging, hands on lessons. Along with creating with our hands, this class will focus on anatomy and how our body works. We will create and learn with clay/play-doh!
In this ongoing class, learners will be introduced to different parts of the body. Students will build specific parts (anatomy focus) with play-doh/clay.
This class will meet bi-weekly. Every other week, we will cover the topic listed for that week below in the description.
Instructional time will take place throughout the course, as we learn interesting facts about our body, how to stay healthy, and specific anatomy.
For this course, students will need to bring play doh or clay for the hands on part each meeting. Students will need to bring a minimum of four colors. More colors will produce a more detailed model (approximately 7 cans of play-doh or clay). Step by step directions will be displayed on the screen as we make and learn about human anatomy.
Pintable templates will be provided before each class on the classroom page. Students may print these to use as a reference (or mat) to work on. I will teach and ask discussion questions about the body, while creating the parts. I will encourage students to share their finished pieces in class, but this is not required. Students also have the option to post pictures in the classroom. No previous knowledge is needed, and each class is isolated and does not build onto another! Learners are welcome to join at anytime!

Each class will be unique in it's teaching method, assessment, and activities. They are designed to engage the learners in both a hands-on and minds-on way. Classes include, but are not limited to:
-hands-on creating/activities
-songs and riddles
-funny videos and images
-games for understanding
-Q & A sessions
-worksheets for practice and mastery.
At the end of class, I will encourage learners to watch, explore, and question, as well as share what they have learned.
