Students will be assessed via oral responses, workbook performance, bingo games, crossword puzzles and spelling tests.

Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 4
Using accelerated, incremental and interactive Direct Instruction methods, participants will learn prefixes, suffixes and word base meanings and spellings. These will be utilized in various combinations to create new words. This vocabulary building will allow students to retain the meanings of words by their various parts and their correct spellings by segmenting words into parts which can be mixed an matched to create new words with new meanings.

The goal of Learning Vocabulary Through Morphographs is to teach students a set of principles that deals with the structure of words. Once students have mastered these principles, they can apply them to english words and generate both correct meanings and spellings. 

In every class, teaching will be live, fast-paced and interactive between students and teacher. 

Students will interact with the instructor in every lesson by discussion, questioning and response. 

At periodic intervals, each class will have the opportunity to interact with one another by way of bingo games and crossword puzzles that review covered words, word parts and definitions. 

Students should have the ability to read at a minimal second grade level to excel in the Learning Vocabulary Through Morphographs class.
