Class Experience

In this class, you will learn the basics of reading music on a grand staff. We will be covering how to read notes, rhythms, clefs, the grand staff, time signatures, and key signatures.

We’ll begin each lesson by quickly talking about our goal for today’s lesson, then we’ll jump into the new learning. The lessons will be taught using a screenshare of a Google slides presentation with lots of review questions scattered throughout to help you practice. We’ll be learning and practicing everything using fun graphics and games. We will end the lesson with review questions, time for questions about what we learned that day, and discussion time.

As a teacher, I believe that learning music can help us learn skills that we can take anywhere we go. In the class, we will be learning study skills that will help you in any other class you take in the future, focusing on mnemonic (memorization) tools and repetition.
