US Grade Kindergarten
This interactive class will introduce students to 3-4 sight words a week. We will read stories with weekly sight words. We will also practice writing, reading, and making short vowel words and CVC words. We will review letter sounds and practice using these sounds to spell new words. During these lessons, your child will have an opportunity to read, write, and learn beginning reading strategies. Students will have plenty of opportunities to participate. Students will be introduced to and learn new sight words. Students will practice directionality and one-to-one matching (voice to print). Students will practice using initial letter sounds to decode new words. Students will work with short vowel sounds. Students will learn to write a simple sentence.
