Class Experience

We all have those moments of fear and self-doubt, but having self confidence and believing in ourselves is VERY important for our success in life. Fear is something that may stop us as young learners to pursue our ultimate goals. What is important is how to manage those situations and overcome them! Life is about decisions/choices and over time the accumulation of good choices is what leads to having a bright future. Let's NOT allow fear to stop us from making those good decisions for our lives.

Week 1: The Cure for Fear

Identifying our fear is the first step into overcoming that hurdle. We will get the opportunity to share (not mandatory) some of our fears with other learners. Self Evaluation is a key aspect when identifying your fear. We will discuss how to become aware of our fears and bring them to light. Once we are able to bring our fears into the light, it is no longer in the dark and it is not scary anymore.

Week 2: Using Our Imagination in Positive Ways

With a little help, we can leverage our active imagination to experience good feelings about our day-to-day. We will discuss real life scenarios and predict how we would think, feel, and respond to our fears. By doing so, we experience thoughts and emotions similar to those that would occur if the situations were actually happening to us right now.

Week 3: Practice Mindfulness

Fear can make your breathing short and shallow, while mindfulness of breathing keeps the diaphragm open and breathing deep. We will learn different unique techniques of breathing that may help us remain calm, produce positive energy, and ultimately give us peace.
Mindfulness enables you to see that fear, or any other negative feeling, is a passing experience that comes and goes.

Week 4: Being Self-Confidence

In a nutshell, self-confidence is your opinion of yourself and your abilities. It can be high, low or somewhere in-between.
We will discuss areas in our life that are our strengths, for example, cleaning my room, math, or sports etc.
We will discuss areas in our life we would like to improve, for example, homework, listening, or taking responsibility etc
Students will have the opportunity to share this with the class or personally write it down.

*NOTE: The class sizes are intentionally made smaller to give your child the attention needed and allow for great small group discussions.
