US Grade 9 - 12
Beginner Level
In this self-paced class, we will cover four different methods for factoring quadratic equations. This class is suited for learners who are struggling to understand how to factor quadratic equations and would like more instruction and practice. For each factoring method, an explanation video is posted containing an explanation of the technique along with some examples completed by Dr. Sullivan. Following this video, learners are assigned practice problems to complete. Once problems have bene completed, learners have the opportunity to compare their solutions to posted solutions.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to factor quadratics equations.
The individual skills for factoring quadratics equations that students will learn are:
Identifying Squares of Binomials,
Identifying a Difference of Squares,
Applying the Product-Sum method, and
Applying the Grouping Method.
