Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
If your child knows letters and sounds and is ready to start putting sounds together to read, then this class is for you! We will spend each class learning a word family. This class will spend time on some of the more common word families and the skills children learn in class will help them learn how to blend more words! The children will learn multiple hands-on ways to visualize and blend the sounds in each word family together. We will learn how to blend, write, and read CVC words. Children will also learn a few common blends and digraphs that are in these word family words. We will also work on finding and reading the new words in sentences. We will end each class with a fun reading game! Children will be supported as they gain confidence in their reading skills during our time together. Learning to blend and read CVC words is a key step in learning to read. I hope you will allow me to join together with your child on the exciting adventure of learning to read!
