Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
To learn more about specific animals. Provide social interaction and engagement. These classes also boosts confidence and listening skills.
For my entire life, I wanted to be a veterinarian. I read countless animal books and magazines about animals and nature (national geographic, zoo books, fiction and nonfiction), and I still enjoy watching documentaries through Netflix and Amazon in my free time. We live in an incredible world full of amazing creatures, and I love to share my excitement about it all!

I have already taught several "Learning Through Drawing" classes and have received tons of positive feedback about those. These classes will be presented with similar methods.
Students may wish to continue coloring and adding details to their pictures after class is over with.
-Paper - can be white printer paper, lined notebook paper, or other solid colored paper. Some of my students like to use a sketchbook to keep all of their animals together to form a cool little alphabet book. -Pencil or other writing utensil, I will be using a black marker so that students can easily see what I draw, most of my students use a pencil so that they can erase if they need to -Crayons (or other coloring utensils, markers or colored pencils are just fine) -A good attitude is essential for these classes! Sometimes our drawings don't turn out the way that we intend for them to. It is important that students realize it is ok if pictures turn out a little wonky, as long as he or she knows what animal it is suppose to be.
Each class is concluded by quick reviews with each student as he or she shows off the picture that they drew and retells their favorite fact about that animal.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Everything is age appropriate, but some animals (like tigers and alligators) are carnivores, and we will be talking about how they eat their food. I also like to show videos of animals hunting and eating. I will not share any pictures or videos of gore and blood.
