Description
Class Experience
Students will learn the instrument inside and out! Students will learn by directly playing. Class is structured by learning a new song each class when we get to that level! SONG REQUESTS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Students will learn basic chords, strumming and music theory. We will learn the fundamentals of the instrument. The practice of learning a new instrument is a great way to learn a lot of new skills including visual and audible forms of skills. It is also good team building for the learners to be able to play together! Power is in numbers and if you make a mistake no one will know because the others got your back.
I grew up around music and it's even in my blood as my dad is a music teacher! I am offering this class because I saw two separate requests for this instrument and I love playing Ukulele! It is definitely easier to learn than guitar, especially for smaller hands! I have probably been playing Ukulele for at least ten years now. I have played piano for about fifteen or twenty years. And the best part is.... its fun to jam and learn the instrument! Bring songs that interest YOU.
Practice outside of class is not a requirement but it will definitely benefit the learners in their favor to practice in between classes! **highly recommenced.
• Ukulele • Tuner
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
A for Effort
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Younger students may need help tuning their instrument at first. (I will share an instructional video on how to do so before class starts!)
