In this class, we learn to safely strengthen and stretch the muscles of the body by learning Upward and Downward Dog poses. These poses are essential to any yoga class. You will find that the "dogs of yoga" incorporate full body movement.

Class experience

This class is taught in English.
What's UpDog? You may have heard of downward facing dog, but do you know its counterpose, Upward facing dog? In this lesson, students will learn basic anatomy, including major muscles and movement of the body. Students will in turn, improve their mind-muscle connection as well as body control. The first, and most important aspect of yoga that students must learn is to breathe properly. The second aspect of yoga is to properly and safely move the body. After we discuss these two, students then apply breathing with moving. It is as easy as breathing in and out.
I earned my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from Peachtree Yoga in Atlanta, GA. After teaching for a year, I then studied for my 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India. I spent the year prior to the pandemic training teachers in Bali, Indonesia. I am now furthering my teaching online to spread my passion for yoga, wellness and mindful living.
Yoga mat or blanket. A big open spot on the floor in a quiet, comfortable room. Water to stay hydrated.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students need an open workout space on the floor and a water bottle. Injuries can occur if not properly supervised by guardian. Avoid eating heavy meals for two hours before practice. Stay hydrated before and after your yoga practice. This yoga session is for general health and well-being and does not offer therapeutic purposes.

As always, consult your physician before beginning any new exercise program.

We assume no responsibility for injuries suffered while practicing these techniques.
