Are you ready to embark on an exciting language journey for your learner? Enroll them in this ongoing Spanish class, where they'll discover the beauty of the language through engaging conversations and interactive activities. Each class begins with a captivating short video featuring two Native Spanish speakers from Mexico. They discuss the topic of the week while speaking slowly and clearly to ensure your learner comprehends every word. The organic approach of learning through conversations helps your child develop a natural understanding of the language. Following the video, we dive into a fun trivia-style game. Your learner will guess the meaning of lines from the conversation, encouraging active listening and reinforcing comprehension skills. Next, I introduce the target vocabulary, and your child will have the opportunity to repeat and practice the words aloud. This interactive repetition aids in vocabulary retention and pronunciation. The highlight of the classes is the range of interactive activities we explore together. From classic games like Tic-Tac-Toe and BINGO to the exciting challenges of "I Spy," "Snakes & Ladders," and the highly requested Gimkit games, your learner will actively engage in practicing the vocabulary and phrases they've learned. These activities make the language come alive, fostering a deep understanding and love for Spanish. To support your child's ongoing practice, a vocabulary list, video, and transcript is posted in the classroom after each class. The vocabulary list includes a mix of different parts of speech and common phrases, catering to both beginner and intermediate levels. This ensures that your learner has ample resources for continued practice outside of class. As an ongoing class, each week presents a new video and a fresh set of words to learn. While vocabulary doesn't build upon previous weeks, repetition of certain words offers valuable reinforcement for students who attend regularly. With a different video and topics covered each week for a full year, your learner will experience a diverse and engaging language journey. Active participation is expected during class, with learners answering questions and fully immersing themselves in the language experience. Learning Goals
The learning goals for students in this course are centered around developing the ability to speak Spanish organically. Rather than solely memorizing words without understanding how to use them in sentences, the focus is on facilitating authentic conversations. By immersing students in meaningful language contexts, I aim to equip them with the skills necessary to confidently engage in real-life conversations in Spanish.

Teacher expertise and credentials
With my bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, as well as my experience as a language learner and instructor, I bring a unique expertise to my Spanish classes. Having started learning Spanish in high school and continuing my studies at the university level, I have built a solid foundation in reading fluency and spoken proficiency.
Over the past 20+ years, I have immersed myself in the Spanish language and culture. My ability to read and speak Spanish without an English accent is a testament to my dedication and commitment to mastering the language.
What sets me apart as a Spanish teacher is my personal experience as a non-native Spanish speaker. I understand the challenges and complexities that English speakers face when learning Spanish. This relatability allows me to effectively explain concepts in a way that makes sense to English-speaking learners. Drawing from my own language learning journey, I can provide valuable insights and strategies to help students overcome obstacles and achieve their language goals.
For the past three years, I have been teaching Spanish classes virtually, and I have witnessed tremendous growth in my students' language abilities. Many of my students began with little to no knowledge of Spanish and, by the end of the school year, have gained the confidence to read in Spanish and engage in basic conversations.
