¡Hola! Bienvenido a mi clase de español! Hello! Welcome to my Spanish class! Learning a second language can be so much fun and can enhance listening, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills as well! In this ongoing course, your learner will be introduced to the basics of the Spanish language using fun and engaging activities through an interactive gaming source called Nearpod. Feel free to enroll your learner at any time during any week! I cannot wait to meet your learner! Topics will include the following: Letters Numbers Colors Shapes Patterns Simple Phrases Body parts Seasons Weather Days of the week Months of the year ** I am open to adding more topics depending on how our class is going once we start! This ongoing course will be held 2x per week. I am a firm believer in repetition, especially when it comes to learning a new language, so the structure of the class will be as follows. Each class covers a theme (numbers, months, body parts, etc.) plus 3-4 letters from the alphabet. Introduction of the topic/topics beginning of the week Review of the topic/topics end of the week using memory games, matching, etc. The lessons will use NearPod, which is an additional resource accessible from smartphones and tablets as well as browsers, which has interactive features and games for your learner to participate in. The NearPod link for that week's lesson will be available in the classroom announcements page within the hour prior to the class start time. NearPod is necessary for learners to participate! **You do NOT have to create a NearPod account to join the lesson. The link or code from me is all you need. **A parent handout with step by step instructions on how to set up Nearpod will also be provided Here’s this week’s breakdown: Week of September 13th: Letters ABC and Numbers 1-10 Week of September 20th: Letters DEF and Numbers 11-20 Week of September 27th: Letters GHI and Colors (rojo, anaranjado, amarillo, verde, azul, morado, rosado, blanco, negro, marrón) Week of October 4th: Letters JKL&LL and Shapes (cuadrado, triángulo, rectángulo, circulo, ovalo, estrella, hexagono) Week of October 11th: Letters MNO & Ñ and Simple phrases (Hola, Adios, Si, No, Me llamo Karina.
