This will be an introductory class for absolute beginners. Students should have little to no experience with Photoshop. In this class, students will be introduced to Photoshop. They will learn how to open projects, adjust settings, and import pictures. They will also learn some of the most commonly used Photoshop tools, and what their functions are. This course is designed to be a live, in-person tutorial with students and teacher interacting and providing feedback or help during the project class time. Each week the teacher will provide source images needed to create that week's project prior to class beginning. Students will create alongside the teacher to create new projects each week. They will also have the opportunity to view the class video after the fact to work the lesson again or at a slower pace after the class time has ended. This class is designed for those students interest in graphic arts and/or Photoshop. What better way to learn a new technology than by learning from a full-time designer & photographer! Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud is required. Students may sign up for a FREE 30-day trial and then purchase the Photography package for $9.99/mo. from https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/plans.html?plan=individual&filter=all&promoid=PYPVPZQK&mv=other Tutorial images will be provided on the classroom discussion board as needed per project. I highly recommend having a backup USB stick to save work.

Hello! My name is Kristi Kern and I have been working as a professional graphic designer and photographer since 2007.
I have a Bachelor's in Graphic Design and a Master of Science in Arts Technology.
I am passionate about sharing my experience and wealth of knowledge of Photoshop with young learners who are eager to get a jump start in their creative careers.
Photoshop is a huge program and I remember being so overwhelmed with it when I first started playing with it in High school. I didn’t have someone knowledgeable to guide me through the program in a tangible way. This is why I am excited to offer classes to learners that break down the program into easily digestible chunks and build their confidence in the program as they create their very own digital works.
