In this class, students will build a foundation for reading. They will learn the letter sounds and long/short vowel sounds

Come have fun with phonics! Whether your student is just learning their letter sounds, struggling to learn their sounds, or want extra practice this class grow in their phonics skills.
In this class students will learn:
-The sound of each letter of the alphabet
- Learn the short and long vowel sounds

- Identify the beginning sound of words
- Gain confidence for reading

- Be ready to blend sounds together into words I have my Montessori Early Childhood certificate and a CA Teaching Credential. I currently teach a Montessori Pre-K and Kindergarten mixed class and have taught hundreds of children to read. I have been teaching for almost 20 years. I love reading and excited to pass that love onto my students.
1 file available upon enrollment-Weekly hand-outs that I will provide. -A sand tray (not required but helpful for tactile learning) - you can use an old plastic lid, top to a box, a cookie sheet anything that can hold a thin layer of sand and has lips of the side so sand doesn't fall out. -white board (marker, eraser) -Pencil and something to color with -Objects around the house that student can find/show if/when do scavenger hunt.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will be giving you weekly hand-outs that will cover the letters we are learning. (I have created these hand-outs) I have ABC song and letter songs for kids to sing.
