Learning letters and phonic sounds through music and movement
This self paced class has one lesson that focuses on learning the alphabet, phonic sounds of the alphabet, and the American Sign Language movements for the letters of the English alphabet. This is done by incorporating music and explaining how the brain learns better when you see, say, hear, and do something representative of the concept. The lesson utilizes the Jack Hartmann Kids Music Channel on YouTube for the music and movements. The reason for this is so that it can be practiced repeatedly.

Teacher expertise and credentials
California Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
I have been in education for over 12 years, have my Master's in Education with a multiple-subject concentration, and have used this exact technique and video with special education students to learn the letters, and sounds so that they could learn to read. I have also used this video and lesson with slightly older students whom English was a second or even fifth language for and have found it greatly successful and enjoyable. I find learning easier when it is fun.
