Description
Class Experience
How do you start learning a new language when you are brand new or only know a few words? Make it visual and physical so that through repetition, learning will grow. Just as young children learn through listening and input, we can learn second languages in the same way. By the time children learn formal grammar in their first language (around 3rd grade), they can already speak and read fluently, so we learn second languages first through listening and experience as well before formal grammar...
This class is taught in Korean.
Students will learn the most basic and highly used grammar forms of Korean to name things, say what one has or doesn't have, what one likes and doesn't like, routines, and beginning vocabulary.
Watch and listen to Korean content through comprehensible input videos on Youtube, Korean music, or Korean language learning podcasts and sites.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
We will refer to pictures and sentences from The Fantastic Fig by David Ming and English/Korean The Toddler's Handbook with over 100 words that every kid should know.
