1 live meeting
30 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this class, we will meet twice a week, for 30 minutes. Learners will engage in self-discovery through questioning and learn 3 or more useful techniques. These will include Mindfulness breathing exercises. The tips and tricks with help start the journey to work through anxiety that occurs in everyday life by becoming more self-aware. Each class, we will "check-in" at the beginning of each class to determine what has worked from past practices. Topics include: Week 1: Getting to know you. Self-discovery questions and learning to set an Intention. Week 2: Good Stress/Bad Stress and Mind-Body connection. What is anxiety and what are the effects of it? How does anxiety show up for me? What are my triggers? Week 3: Release the negative and create positive Self-talk. What is negative self-talk? What does that look like/feel like for me? What is positive self-talk and what do I need to hear? Week 4: Acting instead of reacting. How to reset yourself and incorporate the techniques in my life.
Learning Goals
Students will get to know themselves better and learn to self-regulate when anxiety arises. After completing the classes, learners will know at least two breathing techniques and two or three other strategies that specifically work for them to better deal with anxiety.
