I will introduce the students to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Students will be able to explain the Revolutionary War and what life was like living in Colonial Williamsburg in 1774.
I am a certified K-6 teacher with a minor in Early Childhood Development. I also am an avid History lover, who has over 10 years experience teaching History to my own children.
For best results, it is best to have the popsicle sticks drilled. (I will explain more about this during class)
For the first two classes, students will need printed worksheets from the classroom as well as something to write with. For the second class, students will also need scissors and a glue-stick. For the paper fan, they will need... -mini popsicle sticks -a paper fastener -water color paper -water colors -scotch tape -a hole punch (or the popsicle sticks already drilled)
The students will be assessed based on class participation.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
*When learning about the year 1774, I do understand that slavery did exist. I also understand that the issue of slavery can be a sensitive subject. I plan to answer any questions in a caring and kind way. I also plan to teach the History behind the Revolutionary War and this time period, making sure to stay fact based.
I am using the main book "Welcome to Felicity's World of 1774: Life in Colonial America"
