This is four day class where students will examine a piece of literature to find grammatical elements using the Michael Clay Thompson and Charlotte Mason style of grammar study.

Description

Class Experience

This is a 30 minute multi day class that meets Monday through Thursday.

Why learn grammar?

Knowing the grammar of our language helps us to become better speakers.
Knowing grammar helps us to become proficient writers.  
Understanding grammar helps us to comprehend more accurately what has been read.  (Come eat Grandma. / Come eat, Grandma.)
Studying grammar is an exercise in problem solving.

One of the best ways to learn is to study the best examples in literature.

Together our class will...

This class is taught in English.

There will be a second passage available for students to practice finding grammatical elements on their own.  Students who finish this optional passage may message me for the answer key.  Students are encouraged to put to use the writing skills learned from studying the grammar of well written literature.

2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.

I will share a link to a Google document to be printed out prior to class. If students do not have printing capabilities they may annotate on the screen.
