Description
Class Experience
Students will learn a variety of core values as well as how to construct a story or a skit. They will also be challenged to act out or present their creative project if they desire. I realize it may take some students some time to build the confidence they need to present their ideas openly. We will learn how to encourage one another and celebrate one another.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Ministry. I have had the amazing opportunity to work with a youth pastor in teaching a type of character development/ leadership class to at-risk teens in a local public high school. The amazing teens we met and their stories were incredible. The fact that we took the time to spend with them talking about core values really helped some of them begin to think with a different perspective. I have also taught drama classes and helped direct skits and plays for audiences of a couple hundred people. I would like to use my skills to offer character development and leadership classes to children, teens and preteens. It is important to me that I use my talents to help students realize their full potential and help them to become confident leaders in their community. I believe this next generation is filled with world changers and it is up to us to cultivate their talents with tenderness, care and compassion.
Students may work on their part of the project at home if there is not enough time in class.
It would be great if every student had access to; Paper Crayons, colored pencils, or markers It may be good idea if they had a notebook designated for this class for their writings and ideas.
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
