2 hrs 30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this class, students will work on various Duplo themed activities that focus on different components of critical thinking such as memory and spatial skills. The recommended age range is 4-5 but I am opening to have 3 going on 4 in my class if you think that they would enjoy it. Learners will alternate between completing Fit the Shape Puzzles and playing Puzzle Races. (Please print the puzzle templates provided in attachments. Total: 2) On the last day, learners will have a chance to make their own template using their bricks, pencil/marker, and paper. This part of the lesson may be difficult for younger learners to do since they are still developing their fine motor skills but they are welcomed to give it a try, maybe starting off with tracing one brick. In addition to our Puzzle work, learners will also play a game a day such as Memory Pair, in which the teacher will display upside down cups with hidden brick pieces. Students will take turns as they try to find the pairs. Learners are welcomed to build while they await their turn in the game of the day. Before the conclusion of our class, students will have a chance to share a final thought or talk about their Duplo creation. Any additional time will be used for building and sharing.. Although building is encouraged, please be aware that it is not the main focus of the course. The main focus of this course is to introduce learners to memory and spatial skills with items that they love. Day One: Puzzle Template 1, Memory Pair Day Two: Puzzle 1 Race, Memorizing Towers Day Three: Puzzle Template 2, Memory Trays & Finding Items Day Four: Puzzles 1 & 2 Races, Let's Tell a Story Day Five: Trace Your Duplo, 1 of our favorite games of the week

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Mrs. Kechichian but my students call me Mrs. K. I began my teaching journey as a bilingual classroom teacher and later obtained my Master's in Library Science. As a classroom teacher I worked with kinder and first grade students. One of the things that I appreciated the most about becoming a librarian is that it helped me gain experience in working with various elementary age groups ranging from 3 year old to fifth grade. Although I do enjoy all content areas and working with various ages, I do favor teaching reading skills to primary grade students. I love seeing their progress! Currently, I am a stay at home mom with two daughters!
