Class Experience

Want to learn the basics of angles and using protractor while having a lot of fun? You have just come to the right place. In this 2-day crash course, you will learn, explore and draw angles to form beautiful artistic shapes and patterns.

This class will give you an exciting experience as you discover how unique forms of Art can be made using basic Math concepts. In this class, you will learn the concept of angles and apply it for fun and arts. Students will explore angles and Geometric art (Spirolaterals) as they engage in hands-on activity and fun.

I will cover the following in the two classes.
1. What are angles?
2. Familiarizing with different types of angles (acute, obtuse, right, reflex)
3. Exploring angles from our surroundings.
4. Learn to use a protractor to draw and measure angles.
5. Explore how different angles can create beautiful artistic patterns by drawing Spirolaterals.

The class will be a combination of lecture, group discussions, question/answer and hands-on activity. The classroom size is kept small to ensure that every student participates actively in conversations and hands-on activity throughout the class.

Note: Since the class duration is long, I will give 1-2 short brain breaks for the kids to refresh their minds.

My passion to make Math more interactive and fun for kids has enabled me to look for multiple ways to teach Math. I have been teaching this subject for over 6 years and have privately tutored kids for Math. I have also taught my nieces Art, English and Math from a young age. I learned a lot from these experiences and I intend to use those skills to encourage my students to look for patterns in numbers. I love how students get excited to find that they can make arts through basic mathematical operations and angles. I always encourage them to enjoy their work as much as possible and feel confident in sharing it with others.
See you in my class!
