This is a one time lesson for young learners to gain an understanding on how to read a graphic novel and to learn the benefits of reading them.

Description

Class Experience

In this class students will be learning how to read a graphic novel and all the different components that make this type of reading (Genre) so unique.  They will also learn why reading Graphic Novels are such a good thing for anyone to read.  In this class the students will participate in learning and sharing ideas with their peers and be able to identify the elements of a Graphic Novel.  

In this class students will interact through power point lesson, read aloud, peer/teacher discussion...

*Students will gain an understanding of the parts of a graphic novel and what they mean when we read it.
*Students will learn to identify the different parts of a graphic novel.
*Student will be able to compare and contrast the difference between graphic novels and comic books.

The learner will be assessed through the game that we play at the end of the lesson.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
