In this fun festive class children will learn all about Persian New Year, Nowruz which starts the first day of spring. I will read a book about Nowruz. This book is in English and I will explain some of the keywords in Farsi. Through this book we will learn about the preparation for this traditional Persian celebration, spring cleaning, Chaharshanbeh Suri ( an Iranian festival celebrated on the eve of the last Wednesday before Nowruz), Haft-Sin table ( the beautiful traditional spread), and all the costumes of this ancient celebration. We will also learn the names of the Haft-Sin items in Farsi as we set up this traditional spread together. We end our class with dancing to a Nowruz song. Happy Nowruz نوروز مبارك
