Once your young learner has mastered writing simple sentences, they are ready to start adding some creativity to their writing! In this weekly, on-going class, learners will be taught how to take a very basic sentence like "I saw a dog" and transform it to something much more interesting and descriptive like, "I saw a brown, fluffy dog running down the sidewalk." This class is taught in English.
- Students will improve their writing skills by learning to write using descriptive language. Students will learn about parts of speech like adjectives and adverbs. Students will learn about correct punctuation, including commas, periods, and exclamation points!
Ms. Price has a Bachelor of Arts in English, along with an Early Childhood - 4th grade teaching certification. She has spent over a decade teaching young learners, and her favorite subject to teach is writing!
Learners will need lined paper, preferably a composition notebook that they can bring to class each week! Learners will also need something to write with. A pencil works fine, but many learners have more fun writing with markers, and FUN is highly encouraged in this class! :-)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
