In this ongoing class learners will expand their vocabulary in a creative way. Terms are chosen from 2nd-5th grade reading texts.

Class Experience
Learners are welcome to drop in any time to learn 5 new vocabulary terms and draw an image or cartoon to depict understanding. I will assign the new vocabulary words via the classpage prior to each meeting for learners to look up the definitions. During the live meeting, we will review the definitions learners found and discuss the meaning of each term. I encourage learners to make real life connections and practice a scenario where they would be able to use the new terms in everyday...
Define at least 3 new vocabulary terms and create a cartoon or comic strip scene depicting the meaning of each word.
I am a certified Special Education and English Language Arts teacher. I have a Master's Degree in Students with Disabilities and a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature. I have been teaching for over ten years to a wide variety of age groups. I also hold a TESOL certification so I can assist English as a Second Language Learners.
Learners will need to bring supplies which they are comfortable creating pictures with. Learners are welcome to use a device if they prefer a drawing program to paper/markers.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
