Class Experience
Ukulele has become one of my new favorite instruments! It is so handy to make music anywhere. Ukulele songs are always lighthearted and is a nice way to brighten your mood. Did you know that playing an instrument can... *Improve your confidence. When you become better at refining your skills and notice your success, your confidence begins to soar. *Sharpen your concentration. Research shows that musicians are quicker to notice their mistakes and fix them. *Increase memory capacity. Research suggests that regularly learning an instrument changes the shape and power of your brain. *Help with literacy and math skills. Since learning music uses these skills, it can help with the academic side as well. This one-on-one class is designed to: -introduce new musicians to the beginning level of playing the ukulele. -teach one or more skills like common ukulele chords, proper hand positions, various strumming techniques, capos, and even some fingerpicking. For learners that would like to take this class more than once, I will keep a record of their progress in order to ensure they get the most out of each class. Learners can bring me a song they want to learn how to play and I will teach them how to play it. In this case, it would be helpful to send me the song at least 24 hours before class starts so I can be prepared for the lesson. My highest goal is that playing the ukulele would be a fun experience for everyone! PLEASE NOTE: **This class is not designed to teach all of these skills in a single 30 minute time frame. **The level of ukulele experience of each individual learner and what the student wants to learn will determine how many of these skills will be taught in any given class. **Having the ukulele tuned before class starts increases the amount of learning time in class. I will be happy to help tune the ukulele in class, but that will limit what I am able to teach that week. ** If you do not see a time that works for you, please let me know!
