Class Experience

In book two, episode 15 of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Sokka gets into a haiku battle in Ba Sing Se. In this one-time class, your child will learn what a haiku poem is and how to write one. Using a slideshow presentation, I will show students examples of haiku and we will read them together. We will work together to write haiku about the show Avatar: The Last Airbender. Then, students will be able to write about their favorite character or scene in the show. At the end, students will be given to choice to recite their poem for the class.

It is helpful to have background knowledge on the show Avatar: The Last Airbender as that is the content of our haiku. If your learner needs extra support or differentiated instruction, please reach out. I am more than happy to accommodate!
