In this 6-week typing & computer literacy course, students will continue to grow their computer literacy skills by focusing on: typing with two hands, typing what they see, typing what they hear, typing from thought, and more common keyboard shortcuts. Help students maintain their typing skills while improving their typing speed.
Ms. Rae has been creating original academic curriculum for kids for over a decade. All teachers leading this course are required to have solid training in our writing curriculum in addition to our computer literacy curriculum.
Homework Offered
Short practice activities that are timed will be assigned for work outside of class. Homework takes about 10 minutes a day and is generally done 5 days a week.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Informal assessment of student's typing speed.Grades Offered
A laptop or computer with a standard American keyboard (computer keyboard QWERTY Layout English- United States). A computer mouse.** If your device does not have a mouse, please let us know so we can be prepared with tips on how to use the laptop scroll pad to complete the same functions.
Typing.com does not capture student personal identifying information. Online accounts are set up by the instructor and only include the student's name. No personal email address is required. This class also uses Google Docs. Parents do not have to any special accounts for the student. No personal identifying information for the student is required. The teacher will distribute a link in class. Nearpod does not capture student personal identifying information. An online account is set up by the instructor and the student can create any name they want. Attendance policy: Live classes that are run with only 1 student require a commitment by both the teacher and the student. In the event that this class is not a good fit or that your child's availability changes, we would be happy to assist with providing a class coupon or redirecting to a flex course should we receive notification from the family by the third class. In the event that communication is not relayed or extenuating circumstances arise and your child stops attending class, we will attempt to contact the family. If the student misses 3 consecutive classes then as per Outschool policy, the student will be withdrawn from the course. A class credit will then only be given if the family has had extenuating circumstances and it is solely at the discretion of the organization.
