Learn to Type in Four Days- Keyboarding for Beginners - Camp - Spring Break
Class experience
Beginner Level
In this four-day multi-day course, we will talk about finger placement, posture, and how to memorize the row of keys on the keyboard. Students cannot transfer to another section once the series begins. (This course is a combination of my other Typing courses. This course is suggested for new learners to me & typing.) Day 1 - Home row Day 2 - Top row Day 3 - Bottom row Day 4 - Kahoot and whole keyboard review. Requirements: Students need to know the letters of the alphabet and how to type...
Students will learn which fingers are used for which keys on the QWERTY keyboard. Students will learn the reason for resting their fingers on the home row. Students will learn about creating a mnemonic device to help them remember the order of the letters.
I have enjoyed teaching a summer typing camp to kids and teaching typing/technology classes to students since 2008.
Suggestions to have nearby during class for interaction: - A separate device to log into Kahoot on day four. - A device with a QWERTY keyboard with keys to participate in the Zoom chat. - Dry erase board and marker or paper/pencil for optional notes or to hold up answers if their keyboard isn't working.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Keyboard Ninja, on Typing.com, is a game students can use to specifically practice typing the home row keys after this course is completed. Disclaimer - There is a slicing/sword sound when the fruit pieces are eliminated but no visible object eliminating the fruit when the correct letter is typed. If they type the letter attached to the bomb, the game ends. The ice cube slows the game, and the cherry wins points for all items on the screen. This games I provide can all be played as a guest. *No refunds for missed classes. *Students cannot transfer to another section to make up missed days.
