Learning to read an analog clock is a vital life skill. Reading a clock is necessary for being on time and scheduling. Additionally, learning to read a clock develops specific math skills: skip counting, adding, subtracting, quarters and halves, using a number system not based on 10, and recognizing language that represents amounts (quarter till, half past). In this Flex class students will learn about clocks and learn to read a clock from the hour down to the minute. ALL LESSONS ARE PRERECORDED WITH NO LIVE CLASSES The prerecorded lesson will introduce students to the skill each week, and students will apply the lesson with worksheets and activities. Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from University of Alabama at Birmingham
I'm an accountant with a teaching background who enjoys learning and strives to foster a love of learning in students through games and interactive learning. I believe students learn best when they are having fun and interacting with the material.
I have always had a passion for learning and have diverse interests. I'm especially passionate about building strong foundations in language and math. I believe confidence in these two areas will give students the tools to learn almost anything they'd like to in life.
As an accountant, I have expertise in mathematics and finance. I'm an Enrolled Agent and believe everyone should be proficient in budgeting and personal finance. I believe a strong foundation in math is important to develop advanced skills with numbers later in life. Likewise, strong grammar and language skills will help students communicate effectively and give them the tools to learn anything they'd like to. I'm also passionate about culture and language and have formally studied nine languages, including studying abroad. I want to share the world with students through language and exploration.
I hope to share my love of learning with each of my students as they explore their personal interests. In doing so, students will become lifelong learners and continue to grow in and out of the classroom.
