Has your child always wanted to do a British accent so they can be like their favorite characters from Peter Pan or Alice in Wonderland? I am a professional actress who has performed with a British accent in both theater and as a character at Universal Studios Orlando, where people thought I was from London. Come join this class and learn the basics of a standard RP British accent. In this class students will learn the difference between an American and a standard British Accent. First we will do vocal warmups. Next, we will practice the specific sounds and phrases for the British Accent. Lastly, each student will practice performing a monologue out loud. You can use this class to grow your performing skills or just to convince everyone you are British!

Learning Goals

Students will improve there knowledge of a standard RP British dialect as well as learn some new fun words and phrases that only Brits use!

Well hello there! It's so nice to meet you. My name is Beth and I am an actress, teacher, and avid movie watcher. 

As an actress I have performed at Universal Studios Orlando as the most wonderful British chocolatier lady. I have also worked as several princesses with a princess party company for many years, so I know about everything Disney. 

Currently I teach English on VIPKID and I am an actress in film and commercial work. I also have my degree in Broadcast Journalism, so I know both the behind the scenes and in front of the camera work. I love teaching children about the performing arts and helping to guide them in the direction of an acting career, if that is their passion. 

My classes will cover everything from acting, to makeup, to the business side of acting, and discussions on different movies. Can't wait to see you there!

*Please note for all classes, transfers will not be accepted less than an hour before the start of class. I will look at the reason for the request on a case by case basis and, if available, transfer the student to an open spot the night before.
