Class Experience

Beginner Level
In this small group club, I will teach learners how to solve the Rubik's cube independently using a method that easily allows them to progress through cubing by gaining new skills and learning new techniques. When students have mastered what is covered in this course they should be able to solve the cube in around 90 seconds or less and be prepared to participate in their first cubing competition!

Class size is kept small so content can be customized and paced for learners needs and each learner will receive individualized instruction tailored exactly to where they are in their cubing journey!

Each meeting will begin with a social and sharing opportunity to help kids build community through sharing, we might discuss cubing news, show puzzles, or share achievements from practice throughout the week. This will also allow new learners to join in introduce themselves, and share goals. Then we will conduct a walkthrough review beginning at the earliest step any learner is working on where I will solve the cube slowly explaining each step and thought process. Then students will be given personalized instruction and practice as I check in with students. Students as similar levels will be grouped when possible.

Students will spend the vast majority of class practicing and will practice each step multiple times. Many cubing classes do not include enough repetition so learners are not able to retain the skill for even a short period of time, but with this method your child will be able to solve the cube for life even without further instruction.

Topics:
