Students may be sent video, audio files, or pdfs with exercises they can utilize at home. Students can choose to use these on their own for personal growth - no graded or formal assignments. Students should ideally practice for a minimum of 20 minutes 4 times a week. You get what you put in. Everyone has different time constraints so this is just a suggestion for ideal practice.Assessment
Learners will be assessed by the teacher and given feedback in class or through messages.Class Experience
Beginner - Intermediate Level
USE COUPON CODE LEIBN05 for $5 off your first class for new students!!! In this ongoing voice lesson class students will learn the FUNdamentals of singing and how their voice works - including how to breathe properly, how to place the voice, and how to navigate through their vocal registers. Students will learn about chest voice, mix, and head voice and how to sing through and connect their vocal registers with more ease. Each week we will begin with breathing and vocal exercises designed to increase power, tone, ease of production, agility, range, confidence, and more! Students will have the opportunity to bring in pieces or work on the song of the week to receive feedback. A "technique of the week" will be introduced to help performers work on these pieces through instructor guidance and interaction with fellow classmates. Each week we will explore new songs and styles of singing! You will have the opportunity to receive individual feedback at each and every class! Not sure what to sing? Don’t worry! We will work on a piece together in class and you can sing individually for feedback on that piece! The instructor may also suggest repertoire for the student to explore to expand their knowledge of music and increase the number of songs in their arsenal. Some topics that will be explored are high belting, navigating your break, finding your mix, accessing your head voice, vocal styles, riffing and runs, acting the song, reading music, crafting a performance, and more! I want students to understand what the exercises are for and how to use them in their own practice at home so they can train the whole voice, not just learn an exercise. My teaching style focuses on building technique through training and knowledge, but also emphasizes having fun and building confidence so students can become the singer they want to be! #creative NOTE: You can also check out my other class VOICE & PERFORMANCE TECHNIQUE II for ages 10-15! Ages 10-12 are welcome in either level! SONGS USED AS EXAMPLES - REMEMBER YOU CAN SING ANYTHING YOU WANT FOR FEEDBACK!
